Introduction

 

Jinggangshan Education Foundation is a Hong Kong Charity founded in 26th May 2000.

Jinggangshan is located in the south-west part of Jiangxi Province of China, known as the "cradle of Chinese Revolution" and the hometown of national hero Wen Tianxiang. There is a profound historical significance. Lagging economic development leads to poverty and lack of educational opportunity for children. Some schools have long been involved in the production and processing of fireworks, which seriously endanger the lives and safety of children. Therefore, the establishment of this foundation is commissioned by the government of Ji'an city in Jiangxi Province to help the suburban children.

 

Initial Objectives

1. To raise funds for the development of children's education in Jinggangshan area, to improve the local learning environment, and to provide basic primary education to schoolchildren.

2. To popularize education, improve the knowledge level of the grassroots people, thus change the industrial structure, increase local productivity, and improve the long-term economic development in rural areas.

 

Starting from 2009

Jinggangshan Education Foundation mainly concerns about the problems of the left-behind children in China and provide various activities for youth and teenagers in Hong Kong.

Series of activities have been held including visiting the left-behind children in rural China, Life Education to Hong Kong teenagers, and Mainland study tour/Internship for Hong Kong Students, and other international youth sports, calligraphy and cultural exchange activities.
